Overview

As Fentanyl continues to claim lives and dominate headlines around the world, this is a story about one family who faces the unimaginable — the loss of their son, Cooper — and begins to turn heartbreak into hope, ensuring his story and spirit live on.

On June 9, 2022, Cooper Noriega’s life was tragically cut short when he was poisoned by a counterfeit prescription pill containing a lethal dose of Fentanyl . At only 19 years old, Cooper was living in Los Angeles, pursuing his career as a social media influencer and model inspiring millions through his honesty, humor, and compassion on TikTok.

His death sent shockwaves through both his online community and the world at large. News outlets and podcasts were quick to share the story — “TikTok star dies of accidental overdose.” But behind the headlines was something much deeper: a young man full of life, love, and purpose, and a family determined that his death would not be in vain.

Tell Me About Tomorrow is an intimate portrait of Cooper’s life and legacy — told through the voices of those who knew him best. It’s a story of love, loss, and resilience in the face of the growing Fentanyl epidemic. Through their grief, the Noriega family invites us to reflect, to connect, and to carry forward a message of compassion and awareness that reaches far beyond one tragedy.

    Brad Alexander

    DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, EDITOR

    Brad Alexander is an independent filmmaker from Southern California. First, cutting his teeth within the skateboard industry, he was eventually recruited to a commercial production house where he worked with brands and organizations such as Adidas, Under Armor, The Los Angeles RAMS, and Too Faced Cosmetics. When he was hired to direct and edit a film about a Holocaust survivor, he found a real love for documentary storytelling.

    Starting Wise Old Crow Media in 2020, he exited the commercial space and has since produced, directed, and edited three feature-length projects in various stages of production and distribution. Tell Me About Tomorrow is his second documentary feature film.

    Stephen Keech

    MUSIC COMPOSER

    Stephen Keech is a composer who crafts emotionally impactful music for film, television, and media. Beginning his career as the vocalist for the band Haste The Day, he has since collaborated with major brands like Mazda, Marvel, Spectracide, and Dollar General. His work can be heard in films such as Jesus Revolution and TV shows including Killer Cases, Good Trouble, and Law & Order.

    He is also a frequent collaborator on films directed by Brad Alexander.

    Jaden "JXDN" Hossler

    EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

    Jaden Hossler, known professionally as JXDN, initially gained prominence on TikTok, parlaying his massive following into a breakout music career. In January 2020, he independently released “Comatose”, which landed on more than 40 global charts and garnered the attention of Travis Barker, who signed him to DTA Records.

    Additionally, JXDN has garnered critical acclaim from GRAMMY.com, Entertainment Weekly, MTV News, Alternative Press, PEOPLE, and Forbes. His song “Tell Me About Tomorrow” was written about Cooper Noriega before his passing, and is where the film garners its name. He worked with the Coop’s Advice Foundation to secure financing for the film, as well as overseeing the narrative, and participating in filming.

    Hunter Moreno

    DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

    Hunter Moreno is a creative director, cinematographer, and photographer who has collaborated with celebrities such as Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne, Reneé Rapp, Machine Gun Kelly, Miley Cyrus, and worked with notable brands including Vogue, Inked Magazine, and Madewell. He started his career in Los Angeles, filming YouTube videos for growing influencers.

    He is the co-founder of Make Sure Your Friends Are OK. The organization sells merchandise and then donates a portion of the profits to mental health charities.

    Shannon Bayersdorfer

    CO-PRODUCER

    Shannon Bayersdorfer, who got her start working with legendary Rockstar, Steven Tyler, has 10+ years of experience in artist management, including six years with Reigndeer/Maverick, under the Live Nation umbrella. She worked with some of music’s biggest acts, including Aerosmith, Ty Dolla $ign, Kim Petras, and currently manages Jaden Hossler.

    She joined the Tell Me About Tomorrow film as a co-producer almost immediately, coordinating scheduling, researching and providing insight into narratives throughout the film, and appearing in the film as well.

    Harold Noriega | Coop's Dad❤️

    EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

    Harold known throughout social media as Coop’s Dad❤️, is an entrepreneur and businessman from Laguna Beach, CA. Since his son’s passing he has become the motivator behind the Coop’s Advice foundation, started in Cooper’s honor, and runs the Coop’s Advice podcast.

    Working with Jaden Hossler, Harold secured all interviews with key cast, oversaw the financials of the film, and watched all rough cuts to oversee accurate storytelling and narratives.

Director’s Statement

I first met the Noriega family just two months after the loss of their son, Cooper. A mutual friend introduced us, and from the very beginning, I was struck by their warmth and grace amid unimaginable grief. Despite the pain they were carrying, their focus was outward—they wanted Cooper’s story to raise awareness and protect others from the poison of fentanyl. At that time, I was in production on another documentary, and we initially thought their story might fit within that project. But as I listened and learned more about Cooper, it became clear that his story stood on its own. It wasn’t just one narrative among many—it was a lens through which to understand a much larger crisis.

While I’ve never built an audience of millions or stood under bright lights before a crowd of fifty thousand, I know what it feels like to battle the weight of your own thoughts and emotions. I understand how easy it is to become dependent on something society insists is harmless. The only difference between Cooper and me is that I had the chance to stabilize—to grow older, to start a family. A single fake fentanyl pill stole that opportunity from Cooper.

Tell Me About Tomorrow is a deeply personal exploration of the fentanyl crisis. It seeks to humanize an epidemic too often reduced to numbers, to bring faces and families into focus, and to invite empathy where stigma has long prevailed. This film is both a memorial and a call to action—a chance to listen, to feel, and to see the people behind the statistics. My hope is that through this story, audiences everywhere can connect not only to the tragedy, but to the love, courage, and resilience that endure beyond it.
